GETTING TO NEUTRAL
The number one goal I have for all of my clients is to get them to feeling neutral. This is the fastest way to peace. Think about this: "I have a mortgage". Is that thought negative, positive, or neutral?
Surprisingly, it depends on who you ask, what their family history is, and what their belief system is. "I have a mortgage" belongs in the neutral category, as it is neither positive nor negative; it is a fact.
The problem begins when people assign a fact to a negative emotion. This is where people get stuck for years.
My job is to get you to neutral, no matter what the topic is. Once you are operating from a neutral standpoint, you can make good, solid decisions and choices. You don't confuse yourself with "should's" and "maybe's". It just is. This makes life so much easier.
Maybe it's time to ask yourself if the negative emotion you are assigning to something might actually be a simple fact or a basic circumstance--no emotion necessary.
No need to cause yourself emotional pain if it isn't necessary...unless you like that sort of thing.
